Funding at Poppins Day Nursery

Universal FE and extended FE funding are both structured to cover the 38 weeks /year of term time. Poppins Day Nursery does not offer term time only places and takes the Government funded hours and stretches them over the 52 weeks that we are open. Applied over the 52 weeks this equates to 10.96 hours of universal funding and 10.96 of extended hours, totalling 21.92 hours available per week. A maximum of 10 hours of funding can be claimed per day.

What does funding include

The Government FE funding only covers the cost of the provision of childcare and the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), it does not include any of the additional activities and services that Poppins provides over and above the EYFS, in order to enhance our curriculum. These include, but are not limited to: Meals - Consumables - Forest School - Sensory Room - Outstanding Enrichment Services - Celebrations / Events. This short list only represents a snapshot of the wonderful services and activities that Poppins Day Nursery provides for both our children and parents that allow us to create an outstanding overall experience. We therefore ask parents to pay for these with our ‘Hassle Free Provision Package’ during funded hours. This ensures that the quality of care and service we offer is protected for all our children and parents.
