Duckling Room

Welcome to our lovely Duckling room! This is a wonderful middle room following the Hatchling room, supporting our oldest babies and our youngest toddlers in their transition to Nestlings.

This room has been carefully designed with the ages of the children in mind, providing a new nappy change unit with steps to encourage independence and gross motor skills. We have a quiet area with carefully selected books with your child’s interests at the heart. All of the equipment is of high quality, with economically sourced wooden resources. We have ensured we have space for small world play, for enjoying stories with friends and a supporting adult, space to rest and space to play, investigate and explore.

Children in the Duckling room benefit from a smaller group, with just two members of staff and 8 children. Caitlin and Grace will be the two members of staff that will become the Duckling children’s key person and they will be aiming to encourage early independence, in preparation for the Duckling children to join the bustling Nestling room.

Our Poppins ethos will continue to carry through the nursery, ensuring our children, environment and staff work in harmony; enabling a holistic approach to learning. Here at Poppins we want our children to be strong, capable and resilient learners, full of wonder and curiosity.
