COVID-19 Policy and Procedure (UPDATED 08.02.2021)

Important COVID-19 update - 20/07/2020 to present

We are delighted to inform you that as of Monday 20th July we are able to welcome back all of our existing families, along with welcoming any prospective families to join us at Poppins Day Nursery! We are very lucky that our ‘home from home’ ethos is allowing us to maintain our small, safe and comfortable ‘bubbles’ without it impacting on the outstanding care and education we provide for our children. Children will be in age group bubbles (rooms) as they were prior to the outbreak. However, we will be maintaining all of our procedures and will be continuing to follow our COVID-19 Policy until further notice to ensure the safety of our children, families and staff.

Important COVID-19 update - 21/05/2020

Awaiting confirmation from the Local Authority we are preparing for a phased re-opening on the 1st June 2020. Below you can find some more information on what to expect in the coming weeks. Should you have any addition questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

COVID-19 Information for parents

Important COVID-19 update - 23/03/2020

In line with the government guidelines Poppins Day Nursery is currently operating a partial closure, open only to the children of critical workers and the most vulnerable due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have outlined below the measures we are taking to reduce the risk of the virus spreading whilst continuing to provide outstanding care for our children.

Our key focus at this time is to provide a safe environment for our children, parents and staff whilst maintaining our outstanding practice.

We are still available to answer all enquiries for future places for your child/ children. Please feel free to call Claire our Nursery Manager or email as per our contact page; she is always happy to help.

Procedures to reduce the outbreak of COVID-19

* We have identified those children that are eligible to attend in line with the Government Guidelines all other children are being cared for by their parents at home.

* We have also reduced our staff team down to four members to reduce the amount of people in the building and to ensure that all of our wonderful staff can have financial security from the furlough grant.

* All visits and events at the nursery have been cancelled until further notice.

* We are asking all parents to drop their children off at the door where possible; where we sanitise the children's hands and check their temperature on arrival.

* We thoroughly wash our children's hands throughout the day, after toileting, before and after food and as required throughout the day as we usually would. We closely supervise those children who can wash independently.

* We have asked parents to provide a change of clothes for children to change into at nursery in an attempt to reduce the risk of unknowingly carrying the virus from home/ car to nursery.

* We will be spending as much time as possible outdoors (as we always do!) and we have removed any toys unable to be sterilised at this time. All toys and resources used are sterilised at the end of the day using a milton solution.

* All touchable surfaces, handles and switches are cleaned down with a milton solution at least twice daily.

* All blankets, bedding and soft furnishings are washed daily.

* We ask all staff to leave coats and shoes at nursery and we have advised them to shower as soon as they return home along with washing all clothing from the day immediately.

Our key focus at this time is to provide a safe environment for our children, parents and staff whilst maintaining our outstanding practice.

We are still available to answer all enquiries for future places for your child/ children. Please feel free to call Claire our Nursery Manager or email as per our contact page; she is always happy to help.

We are hoping that these procedures will help in slowing the virus down and hopefully preventing it form entering our nursery. We will continue to reflect on our practice and keep you updated as Government Guidelines change for our sector.

Stay strong, things will get better. It might be stormy now, but it can't rain forever :)
