Poppins Day Nursery is open from 8am - 6pm daily. Experience has proved that children settle and progress much faster if they attend at least 2 sessions weekly and this is encouraged from the start. A carefully planned admissions procedure ensures that each child is carefully introduced, welcomed and guided during their important early days at the Nursery and parental support is always encouraged.
Children are welcomed into small "family" groups for parts of each session where they can more easily relate to friends and familiar adults enabling feelings of security, identity and self-esteem to be nurtured from the very start.
A committed team of enthusiastic, caring and professional staff guide children through a wide range of learning situations
The layout and management of the Nursery reflect these principles and provide a happy and stimulating environment where children can develop skills and self-confidence as they progress through a broad, balanced and carefully planned curriculum. Staff remain with the same children throughout the week, giving continuity of care. Staff are well qualified and regularly attended training courses to keep them up to date with ideas and professional development.
The Nursery is fully registered for Government Funding, children are entitled to receive up to 5 sessions of 2½ hours weekly of funded education from the term following their 3rd birthday and this funding is automatically deducted from each term’s invoice.
Parents interested to learn more about the Nursery, to better support their child's learning, are welcome to arrange with staff to come into the Nursery and join their child for any of the sessions. At all times the Nursery aims to work in active partnership with parents in the continuous process of each child's care and education and to introduce children to the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum linking with local primary schools and community.
